Peter Elliott is a Melbourne architect who commenced practice in 1975. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Art Design & Architecture at Monash University. He has a special interest in the design of the public realm, and has lectured and written extensively on contemporary architecture and urban design. The work of the practice has won more than 70 National and State architectural and industry awards. This includes an Order of Australia in 1987 for services to architecture (public housing), the RAIA Victorian Architecture Medal 1991 for the Carlton Baths and Community Centre. Projects include; Spencer Street footbridge, the Robert Clark Horticultural Centre Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Observatory Gate Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, RMIT University City Campus Urban Spaces Project, Deer Park Bypass, M80 & M2 Freeway upgrades.

Catherine joined PEA in 2004, becoming an Associate in 2006 & Senior Associate in 2012. Prior to joining PEA Catherine practiced architecture in Tokyo & Hobart, and exhibition design at the National Gallery of Victoria. Her experience ranges across type and scale of project; including master planning, institutional & educational architecture, commercial interiors and exhibition design.
Catherine enjoys engaging with projects from a city scale to a very fine level of detail. She has extensive experience in the front end of the design process being highly adept at managing multiple stakeholders, interpreting aspirations and translating a clients briefing requirements into a cohesive and elegant design solution.
Catherine is actively involved in architectural education and has taught Masters of Architecture design studios in the MSD at The University of Melbourne since 2006. She is regularly an invited examiner for architecture & interior architecture programs at UTAS, UoM, RMIT & Monash University.

Jude has been working in the industry for 23 years covering commercial interiors, residential and institutional projects. She has had experience in running a private practice for 10 years in Melbourne and has had published works.
In 2008, Jude joined the team at Peter Elliott’s and has been senior project architect for RMIT Building 1, Carlton Baths Refurbishment and is currently working in the same role on Geelong Grammar Centre for Creative Education.
Proactive problem solving and positive teamwork engagement are the key areas where Jude’s strengths lay. Jude loves being outside and favours the construction phase of projects. As OH+S Officer at PEA’s, she has a penchant for hazard tape, orange webbing and all things hi-vizz.
Sean van der Velden
B.Arch (Hons) (RMIT) BA (La Trobe University)
Sean commenced work with the practice over 10 years ago as a first year architecture student at RMIT University. He has worked on a diverse range of projects during this time and has developed a good working rapport with many of our ongoing clients.
Sean has a close working relationship with Peter Elliott, typically working closely together during the development of concepts at the early phase of a project. He has also been involved in many of the firms continuing Master Planning commissions with Melbourne Grammar School and RMIT University among others.
He has an enthusiastic interest in graphic communication and wayfinding strategies. He has designed and developed the practice website and is responsible for much of the promotional and presentation material produced by the office.
Senior Project Architect

Chris joined the practice in 2012 as a senior project architect. He brings with him fifteen years of hospitality, institutional and educational project experience having worked in Melbourne, Sydney and London. To date, Chris’ project work in the office has included building procurement work from documentation to construction stages at Trinity College, University of Melbourne and Melbourne Grammar School. He is currently involved in a wide range of projects at all stages of development. Chris thrives within the project team environment, enjoying good relations with clients, consultants and contractors. He understands that communication, whether verbal, written or drawn is the key to successful working relationships and to a successful project outcome.
Senior Project Architect
Having gained extensive experience both interstate and abroad, Amy joined the practice in 2008. With a background largely in public and educational Architecture she has over fifteen years’ experience in all aspects of design including concept design, through to documentation, detailing and contract administration.
Amy has a particular interest in how the physical and cultural landscape may inform design at a range of scales from the overall concept to the finest detail.
Amy has led numerous projects at Peter Elliott Architecture in particular for Melbourne Grammar School where she was Project Architect for the Multi-purpose Learning Centre, Upper Primary Precinct, and the LOTE and Drama Redevelopment.

Daniel joined Peter Elliott Architects in 2006 whilst studying at RMIT University. He has completed a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Architecture and a Master of Architecture. Since joining the practice, Daniel has been involved in a diverse range of projects across multiple project stages. His experience ranges from design development and documentation through to project procurement. In addition to Daniel’s comprehensive knowledge in digital design, he works meticulously with the cross-disciplinary project team to achieve innovative design solutions.

Juliet joined Peter Elliott Architects in 2007 whilst studying at RMIT University where she completed a Bachelor of Architectural Design in 2008 and Master of Architecture in 2011.
Juliet has been involved in a diverse range of projects throughout her time at the practice, including built works and Infrastructure and Master Planning commissions.
Juliet enjoys the challenge of developing clear and innovative graphic communication across all project phases, which has led her to be involved in much of the practices publications.
Her understanding of interior concepts and product knowledge has led her to be central to the design development phase of numerous projects.
Juliet is currently working on a varied range of projects across all project stages.

Jonathan joined the practice in 2010 bringing with him expertise in the documentation and administration of intricate residential and institutional buildings, having 9 years experience with a wide range of building types in Melbourne.
Jonathan’s significant exposure and interest in projects involving heritage and existing building fabrics are of value to this practice, which has a strong reputation with managing complex proposals.
Jonathan’s involvement in the office has included leading the documentation for projects such as the Carlton Baths and Family Resource Centre, the International House Centre for Living and Learning (UoM), and the final phase of the William Buckley Bridge.
Shigeru joined Peter Elliott Architects in 2012 during his fourth year of university. Since arriving in Melbourne in 2009, he has completed his Bachelor and Masters of architectural studies at Monash University and immersed in the architectural and design culture of Melbourne. He participates broadly from concept stage to documentation for various projects in the office. Recently Shigeru has worked on the delivery of documentation for Trinity College Pathway School. He has experience working for Go Hasegsawa (Japan) and CPG Corporation (Singapore) prior to Peter Elliott Architects, and values working with and in a cross-cultural environment and people.

Hosna joined Peter Elliott Architects as a fourth year Architectural Design student in 2012 and has since graduated from Masters of Architecture at Monash University. During her time in the practice, Hosna has valued working through a wide spectrum of projects and finds enjoyment in the diversity of work landing on her desk. Hosna’s prior interests in Visual Arts and Photography and her background in Contemporary Arts have helped her make positive contributions to the office, specifically with graphic communication of work. Hosna works very closely with senior architects during the conception phase of projects, primarily assisting with the effective representation and communication of ideas. Her roles include, providing drafting support, compiling graphic reports and presentations, preparing project submissions, generating the practice’s promotional material and assisting with publications, managing the office product library, overseeing any website updates as well as occasionally going on photography ventures.
